Project Scope
1.6 million people - 1 Evangelical Christian School! The Lighthouse Elementary School was founded by Christians ten years ago to be a light to a dark region. It is located in the heart of this conflict-torn, yet very strategic city. The 200 students from Kindergarten through 6th grade come from poor, mostly non-Christian families and experience the love of Christ through the gift of a quality education.
An amazing opportunity exists to add a new wing to the existing school and open the door to a better future through education. This school is a powerful and tangible witness to the love of Christ for people in an area that does not allow traditional Christian witness.
One or two architects are needed to provide designs for the new school wing. A structural engineer is needed to provide a preliminary structural design for the low-rise concrete structure. Volunteers for this trip should be experienced travelers and mature in their faith.
The school is anxious to build the new wing and expand their ministry through increased enrollment.
