Project Scope
EMI has had a long going relationship with the Nicaragua Baptist Convention and the ministry from Bethel, Nicaragua. Vital and Ketly Pierre, missionaries to Nicaragua began an after school program on a porch around their home in Bluefields and began construction on their EMI designed multi-purpose building within hours after the EMI team left in 2002. A second emi trip followed and 2 buildings were completed for the Safe Harbor ministry also on the Bluefelds site. Finally a 3rd EMI team responded to a need for another multi-purpose school facility in Kukra Hill. Again within a weeks time, the construction started and a short time later the building was complete.

Now EMI is being asked to come once again to partner in a design of another Multi-purpose educational facility in a town called Rama, pop 60,000. The village is a 2 hour boat ride from the Bluefields site and the EMI team will survey the 2 to 4 acre land, prepare a master plan and improve on the previous design of the past building for this new site. While staying in Bluefields the team will do an as-built of the improved site and the ministry is asking for a kitchen/dining hall design as part of the overall Bluefields facility.

The ministry already has scheduled construction teams to come to Bluefields starting in January of 2011 so the need for an EMI team and design is critical. Our goal will be to produce the drawings in country so that the preparation for the arrival of the construction teams can begin. This is a great opportunity to see and stay in an EMI designed building and experience the impact of your design skills in serving the kingdom of God.
