Action International Camp John 3:16
EMI Project 5500
October 2009
Original Project Scope
Action International Ministries has more than ten years of experience in holding evangelistic camps for troubled youth in the Yucatan peninsula and they are ready to expand heir work. In the past they have had to rely on rented camp facilities, but now they have purchased 24 acres of rural land to develop their own camp facilities. They are so excited to be able to expand their influence among the youth population, helping underprivileged Mayan and Mexicans alike. The primary goal of each camp held is to reach children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to provide a safe place where they can receive godly counsel and love in the midst of the problems they face. Many of the children are victims of abuse. After the ministry develops this first phase youth camp, their vision will expand to include facilities family camps, vocational and agricultural training, and pastor's conferences.
We are responding to this need by mobilizing an EMI team which will jump start the construction project as they begin construction work around the end of the year. Our team will survey the land, develop a long-term master plan, design the needed infrastructure (water supply, electric including solar power options, septic, roads, etc.), and provide the design for two identical dormitories and a dining hall. We are aiming to complete the design on site and leave plans with the ministry for immediate construction!
What a great opportunity to come and enjoy the Yucatan this October as you serve Christ with your design skills! Join us!
