Haiti (Raymond)
Haitian Children's Home
EMI AL Project 7059
May 23 - 30, 2009
Original Project Scope
We at the Haitian Children's Home believe that the only way to change lives in Haiti is by introducing the people to Jesus Christ. All the children at HCH are raised in a Christian environment, where they are involved in their local church and various ministry opportunities in their community. Through this involvement they learn the importance of establishing their own relationship with Jesus Christ. We invite children into our home, and more importantly, into our family. These children have previously been discarded, abandoned, orphaned, and considered too risky for adoption because of their past wounds and experiences. We live this way, trusting God that the life transformations that take place will ripple out through the city of Raymond, the nation of Haiti, and throughout generations of families to come.
Our current home of 20 children is at capacity. We turn down 2-3 families regularly who are need of a home for their children. In addition, the town of Raymond (where this project will be located) has no school, no church, no clinic, and a great need for support. Therefore, our dream for this land is to create a "cul-de-sac" of 8 homes. Each home will house a family of 20 orphaned and abandoned children and house parents/family. In addition this land will have a primary school, a secondary school, a trade school, a clinic, a church, a soccer field, farm land, and a water-treatment facility to support the homes and serve the surrounding community.
