Original Project Scope
Central Baptist Church grew from the vision of Pastor Fredrick Kaddu who saw that vast needs of children in Wakiso Town due to poverty, abuse, neglect, lack of education, impact of AIDs within families, etc. The ministry began serving children and, at the request of the adults, a church was formed in 2002 for both the children and adults.
Currently the church has a temporary building that can hold approximately 200 people but with their current rate of expansion, it will not hold the congregation for much longer. In addition, there is a temporary building that houses 10 orphaned girls; however, they are aware of over 50 girls in need of rescue that they currently cannot serve. Central Baptist Church has requested eMi’s assistance in developing a master plan for a permanent church and orphanage on their small site (just over ½ an acre).
This eMi trip will serve a second ministry as well. Bible Gospel Ministries was a ministry started in 1983 and currently oversees the Bible Gospel Temple as well as two other churches, a nursery and primary school, a child sponsorship program and food distribution ministry. They have approximately one acre of land and desire to construct a church, school and office, residence and kitchen.
Both these ministries need assistance in design for their properties. We’ll spend a few days working with each ministry strategizing with ministries to determine how they can match their visions to the properties they own, develop a master plan and basic building layouts and produce some fundraising sketches.
Come serve to help two local churches with big visions and small properties! We’ll help them develop a strategy to use their properties serve Ugandans, build the Kingdom and ultimately glorify God!
