Office
EMI America Latina (Costa Rica)

Age: 44

Years at EMI: 1

Family
I am married to my godly wife Debbie for 12 years. My oldest stepson, Josh is 19, my daughter Maggie is 8, my son Richard is 7, and the youngest, Lydia is 4.

Professional Training and Experience
I have a Bachelor in Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois. I started my professional career in Dallas, and then moved to San Diego, and prior to moving to Guatemala, Montana. I have 18 years of professional experience, and had my Architectural License in the State of California. I have worked on project of every use; a 60 story office tower, to University projects, schools, commercial, medical, professional, and residential projects. My expertise lies in Construction Documents and Specification, not in Design.

Ministry Experience
I took off 3 months after my first year of professional practice to tour the great European architectural sites. My ministry service internationally, which was only an hours drive was in Mexico when I lived in San Diego. My church visited orphans and took trips to the dump to build shanties and give baths to the people who lived there. For the past year the Lord has given me and my family the opportunity to live and work for the people in Guatemala. My first ministry experience came with my church in San Diego, where I did a little in Mexico. Debbie and I coordinated a homeless ministry for our church as part of a network of churches and the Department of Social Services before we were married.

If God told me to live long term in a cross-cultural setting, the country I would chose...
The Father has lead us to Guatemala, but my family and I are willing to go where ever He may lead us in the future, with EMI or with another ministry group. Although we made only a 2 year commitment to EMI, we don’t see ourselves living in the United States again.

Verses to Live By
2Co 5:14-15 (Not to live for self)
For the love of Christ constrains us, judging this, that if one died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to Him who died for them and having been raised.

Luke 14:25-33 (To be a true Disciple of Christ)

John 14:15, 1Pe 1:13-16 (To be Holy and Obedient)
Terefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ, as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance, but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

Mat 28:19 (To make Disciples)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
