Born:

Jalina- November 26, 1979

I started at EMI: September 2002

Family
Jalina and I got married on May 31, 2008. We first met at a small group that I was leading through New Life Church. Our first date was a hike to the Punchbowls at Glen Eyrie, CO. Two years later we got engaged at a private dinner in the castle at the same location. We are currently enjoying marriage without children.

My parents still live in NJ where I grew up. My sister lives in Connecticut, is married, has a son, Gavin, and a daughter, Cosette.

Professional Training and Experience
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Delaware. Jalina is a Registered Nurse and has been able to travel with me on an EMI trip to Kenya where I designed a Medical Center and she conducted medical training to the local women and midwives.

Ministry Experience
I been to over 20 countries, half of those with EMI. My desire to serve internationally started in college during my study abroad trip to South Africa where I helped serve in an under-funded orphanage. Many of the children were orphaned because their parents’ died because of AIDS...
which meant they were born HIV positive. It was on that trip that I found it more fulfilling to satisfy people’s needs than to satisfy people’s wants.

All of my international ministry experience has been with EMI. As I grow to understand the different parts of the body of Christ, my calling has become more clear: to serve the poor by fulfilling their physical and spiritual needs.

I am a licensed minister through New Life Church where I have served in many leadership capacities mostly in the small group system.

If God told me to live long term in a cross-cultural setting, the country I would chose...
Jalina and I have a heart for Africa, but we would have a hard time choosing one country specifically.

Verses to Live By
Philippians 2:5-9
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.

Matthew 6:33
Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
